I want to insert this thread for the benefit of everyone, outside of playing Oberin. If there is a certain area that you know a lot about, share a tip or two. I am interested in real life skills/knowledge here.

Poker
I am a huge fan of playing poker. I make lots of money playing it, and I can realistically count this as a second income. Any questions/advice is welcome.
1. When playing in smaller limit games, play the numbers. Even if you are a %85 favorite at the beginning of a hand, you can still lose. If you play those hands over a long period of time, you will win about %85 of those hands. In low-limit poker, play the percentages. They will pay off in the long run.
2.One problem that newer players to the game have is the way they look at it. It is wrong to look at individual sessions. You need to take a long-term stance when looking at profits and losses playing poker. You could be the best player in the world, and you are going to lose on any given night. What is important is your overall profit/loss.
For example, when I first moved back to Butte, I played cards about 6 days a week. My main goal was saving money to get back into school. I played to win, not for fun. Even if I lost 2 out of those 6 days, I was still about $300 ahead for the week. In the slim chance that I was down for a week, I was still up $800 for the month. Long term is the way to look at poker. I base my playing on a monthly, or yearly basis. Sure I might lose $50 in a night. But I would generally win $50 to $100 on the other 4 nights.

Mixed Martial Arts
I have been a student of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) since 1997, when the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) debuted in the U. S.. I believe that MMA is one of the greatest self-defense systems that somebody could belong to.
I have taken BJJ (Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu) for a few years. If any of you know anything about MMA, you know the name Royce Gracie. He was the smallest guy in the tournaments, yet he destroyed everyone. His focus was technique. Nothing fancy, nothing flashy, just effective. The focus of this is one-on-one self defence. You learn joint manipulation (hyperextension of the joints) and chokes. Most traditional martial arts focus on striking. Very little of it has anything to do with ground fighting.
I took a basic class in Muay Thai Kickboxing. If you want conditioning, this is the fighting style to take. In each 50 minute session, I recieved a solid work-out that tested every ounce of willpower that I could find. If you are interested in learning some realistic striking techniques, and getting a solid workout, this would be a good thing to look into.
The majority of fights go to the ground. Realistically, it is over 85%. I don't care if you are a 10th degree blackbelt in any (stand-up) dicipline, you will be in trouble on the ground. Bruce Lee said that he could take any man and train him in wrestling and American boxing, and he would beat any black-belt out there in a real fight.
MMA consists mainly of Muay Thai Kickboxing (Punches, Kicks, Knees, and Elbows), Wrestling (Takedowns and Ground Control), and Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu (Chokes and Joint Manipulation). These three styles compliment each other in an almost perfect way.

Graphic design.... Well a few quick photoshop tips (if u use photoshop u might find these neat) 1. if you need cool shadows you dodge and burn tool at higher and lower exposure setting to make cool shadowns. 2. MAKE layers for everything (if you don't know this) lol 3. don't save directly to your flash drive (save to desktop then to flash) cuz you MIGHT het the horrid pinwheel of death 4. for a good rain effect use "graphic pen" set to white (foreground color) and black (background color) and mess with it. then apply then go to "edit" then fade and mess with it to get you desired effect. 5. if doing an illustraition that has no defined edges draw in the colors you want the part to be but seperate it as a different layer to keep it from overlapping. thanks thats all from me
